Abstract
Initial public offerings (IPOs) are essential to the capital markets ecosystem because they enable companies to acquire public ownership and give investors access to possible growth stories. A number of larger listings in India garnered significant public attention between 2021 and 2025. Each of the four—Zomato, Nykaa, Paytm, and LIC—was distinct due to its respective sectors, value stories, ownership histories, and investor expectations.

Listing gain, first-day closing gain, one-year ROI, revenue growth percentage, net profit margin percentage, earnings per share (EPS), and return on equity (ROE) are among the criteria. Growth rate analysis, correlation analysis, tabulation, descriptive statistics, and graphical representation are all included in Microsoft Excel. In addition to the fundamentals required to complete a dissertation checklist, you also receive copies of the completed pilot answer sheet for reference and a supporting-input investor-perception questionnaire that provides an overview of primary perception data.

The findings demonstrate that listing gain is not a reliable indicator of a company's long-term financial stability. While Paytm and LIC listed at a discount, Zomato and Nykaa experienced significant listing profits. Conversely, all four initial public offerings (IPOs) had negative returns from the listing price of roughly a year. This demonstrates how performance immediately following listing can differ significantly from performance in the near time following listing. A more thorough view is provided by the financial performance study. Zomato turned its losses into earnings by FY2024 and FY2025. Nykaa maintained its profitability, although with narrow profit margins. Paytm had revenue pressure in FY2025, although its losses decreased. LIC was really profitable.
